Our First Camping Expedition

Last weekend we had our first camping experience as a family. We went with the Lock Family (who are camping pros!) out to a town just below the start of the snowfields. Of course there wasn't any snow left but the heavens did provide us with plenty of rain ....especially the days that we had to entertain 7 kids just between Kelly and I! Quite a challenge!!

Still we managed to score 2 perfect sunny days before everything went pear-shaped (read rain, too many kids, trips to hospital, flat tyres etc, etc!! but we won't go there!) So I managed to get heaps of photos on the 2 sunny days we had. We did have fun and we will go again. Although maybe I'll wait till Kieren's finished work so we can pitch tents together next time! Still Kelly and I are legends for setting up 3 tents and all the paraphernalia in drizzle whilst watching 7 kids. Of course it took us 5 hours but what an achievement!!The ACTIVE gang!

Anyway, on the sunny days we had some great family times including a short bush walk up to see Steavonson's Falls which supplies the town water and also a paddle in the creek that ran through the camping ground on the hot sunday afternoon. The kids had a ball and it was fairly relaxing for us adults too! Kelly and I got away to a cafe for a short while which was delicious! And we had fun evenings playing boardgames by lamplight.
